Membership Requirements:

The Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association (TBTLA) is a dynamic organization designed to educate, support and advocate for its members and the people they represent. Its mission is to protect the rights of the individual, advance trial advocacy skills and promote high ethical standards and professionalism in the ongoing effort to preserve and improve the American system of jurisprudence.

As such, TBTLA requires that its members must:

• 1. Are duly licensed to practice law
• 2. Are regular members in good standing with the Florida Bar
• 3. Are members in good standing with Florida Justice Association (FJA) formerly the (AFTL) Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers
• 4. Are of good moral character
• 5. Do not represent insurance carriers, their insured or employers in personal injury litigation and/ or arbitration proceedings or workers compensation matters and do not belong to law firms that engage in such work.
• 6. Pay the established dues as members of this organization, as established by the Board of Directors.

$250.00 fee for members who have been practicing law less than 5 years.
$300.00 fee for members who have been practicing law for 5 years or more.
